Women observe the “Nirjala” fast (from sunrise to moonrise) without water on this day so that their life partners get prosperity, happiness, and joy.
The Karva Chauth puja will last from 5:36 pm to 6:54 pm, and the fast will last from 6:33 am to 8:15 pm. Now moonrise will happen at 8:15 pm. Chaturthi Tithi will start at 9:30 PM on October 31 and end at 9:19 PM on November 1.
