Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti 2023: Valmiki Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon date of Ashwin month according to the Hindu calendar. Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated on 28th October. One of the greatest gurus of Sanatan Dharma was Maharishi Valmiki. He was also the first litterateur of Sanatan Dharma. Ramayana, the epic, was written by Maharishi Valmiki. Valmiki ji was one of the great sages of the ancient Vedic period, who introduced people to the unique character of Lord Shri Ram by writing the great text Ramayana in Sanskrit oracles.
Valmiki Ramayana has been written by him. Ramayana, the largest scripture of Hinduism, is based on the life of Shri Ram and the events related to him, which tells about various duties of life. He became so famous because of writing Valmiki Ramayana. According to the scriptures, his father was Varun or Aditya, son of Maharishi Kashyap, who was once sitting in deep meditation when termites covered his body making it their home, hence he was called Valmiki.

Before becoming Maharishi, he was known as Valmiki Ratnakar, a dreaded dacoit who used to rob people to support his family. Ratnakar once met Devarshi Narad Muni in a deserted forest. Ratnakar tried to rob the sage, but Narad asked why Ratnakar did such a despicable thing. Ratnakar said that I have to do this to support my family. When Narada asked him if he would be willing to share in his sins, he was stunned.
Narad said that if your family does not want to join you in this work then why would you commit this sin for them? Hearing this, Ratnakar the dacoit went to Narada gave up his life, and started chanting the name of Ram. But due to many sins, his body was not able to pronounce the name of Ram, so he started chanting it in place of Ram before dying. By the grace of Rama, Ratnakar became sage Valmiki, under whose protection Mother Sita and her two brilliant sons Luv and Kush could do everything.

Once on the banks of the river, Maharishi Valmiki saw a pair of crows who loved each other. A wolf killed one of the crows, and the female bird began to cry, and Valmiki said, ‘Maa Nishada Pratishtham Tvamagamah Shasvatih Samah.
